Everything I learned about healthy cooking, I learned from my mother. Her fridge is literally filled with fruits and vegetables and good-for-you organic foods.
It drives us nuts 😉
“How is there anything to eat in this house?!” is a usual turn of phrase. Yet she can take that random assortment of veggies and make something, well, yummy.
One day I watched her chop up some veggie variety fridge-dwellers, toss them in a pan with some olive oil and then … the secret ingredient: garlic salt.
Wow. Those veggies were edible! I’ve since adopted this little habit (sometimes substituting low-sodium seasoned salt) and found my dinner veggie quota has increased quite a bit.
Hope you don’t mind me sharing your secret mom. Thanks for teaching me!
